Cotswold Wedding

Liza and Anthony were married on the 30th December 2014 at South Cerney Church, then headed off to The Royal Oak after the ceremony for a family meal. We we're only there for the ceremony as the Bride and Groom just wanted the ceremony captured. The wedding took place at 4pm in the afternoon, so while inside the church the light turned to darkness and the candles lit the church as the gorgeous Bride and Groom said their wedding vows.

Liza looked stunning in her beautiful silver wedding dress and Anthony looked very smart in his military uniform. Liza was accompanied to the church with her dad but before heading into the church, Anthony went to meet her and they walked up the aisle together with Liza's son. The Church was decorated with Christmas decorations, flowers and candles, each guest had a candle to hold too while Liza and Anthony said I do. After the ceremony Anthony and Liza greeted guests inside the cosy church while mince pies and mulled wine was being served for everyone. After the mince pies and mulled wine had gone it was time for Anthony and Liza to head off for their family meal where they celebrated becoming husband and wife.

Wedding Speeches

Tears and Laughter.... that's what the speeches are all about!

It's no secret about how much I love the wedding speeches, I have even shed a tear or two at a couple, the Father of the Bride's speech always gets me! We have had some cracking speeches over the years, some have turned the guests to a blubbering mess and some have raised an eyebrow or two...that's always the Best Man Speech. At most weddings, the Father of the Bride, The Groom and The Best Man say a speech but we have had a few brides over the years get up and say a few words too. They always seem to dread saying their speeches but they are one of the highlights of the wedding celebrations.

The Father of the Bride is usually the first one to stand and speak. He Normally thanks the lovely guests for coming and proudly talks about his daughter telling a story or two of her from when she was a young girl to the woman she has become. Mostly they are heart warming stories but you do get the funny memories too. The father of the bride always gives advice to the newly weds about marriage and also a few tips.

The Groom normally speaks on behalf of himself and his new wife, thanking people for help and support through the planning of the wedding and also through the years of growing up. I love when the Groom turns to his new wife and talks personally to her.

The Best Man are always the most funniest especially when he talks about the groom of course. You normally see the Bride laughing her head off and the groom with his hands over his face to hide the blushing!

Maid of Honour can say a speech too, just like the best man but to talk about her beautiful best friend.

Top 10 Wedding Speech Tips

1. Read your speech through a few times before the wedding or even memorise it, it will sound so much better if your ready and prepared and not just reading from a script. Practise makes perfect! Have notes and use if needed.

2. Always have a glass of water at the ready because of nerves and dry mouth.

3. Bride & Groom have tissues at the ready

4. Don't let the nerves get the better of you. Everyone in the room knows how important you are to the newly weds, they expect you to feel a little nervous but enjoy it, stand up, be confident and say your speech with pride

5. Don't worry about the camera! Of course the speeches will be photographed not just by the professionals but also by the guests...why not have fun with it strike a pose for the camera!

6. Its not a race to see who finishes the speech the quickest, speak slowly so we can all hear you.

7. Use humour in the speech, everyone loves to laugh

8. Don't forget its your speech - Use Props! We have seen photos handed out, personalised T-Shirts for the Bride and Groom, a pillow for the groom and even a cabbage! But don't get to carried away.

9. Say what you love about the Bride & Groom and wish them a wonderful life together and all the love in the world.

10. Lastly...Stay Sober! Slurred speeches are not a good idea!

Sara & Christian Pre-Wedding Shoot

Sara & Christian are getting married in Devon on Valentines Day 2015. The pre-wedding shoot took place at Cirencester Abbey grounds with a touch of snow on the ground and the winter sun shining down. We walked around the park having a chat about their wedding day and took a selection of photos on the way round too.

2014 - Wedding Reflection ♥

2014 has been a brilliant year with so many beautiful weddings and lovely couples choosing us to be a part of their special day. It's such a big decision choosing a wedding photographer to capture your special day, so its always an honour to be chosen. Lots of our couples have stayed in touch too which is lovely as we get to hear all the exciting things happening in their lives and this year already some of our couples are awaiting a special delivery by the stork and one couple have already had their bundle of joy!

Lots of great moments this year one of our couples had an owl deliver the rings which was a first for us and was such a beautiful touch also a first for us a Guard of Honour after a military wedding. We had our biggest bridal party to date consisting of 12 Bridesmaids, 2 ushers, 4 pageboys plus the best man. We also had a dove release in 2014 too. Lots of church weddings throughout the year too, we have worked with the same vicar at 5 of them! Also back in May we finally had a wedding at our local church and a few more there this year too, In July we met a vicar who wouldn't allow any photos what so ever  throughout the service but it didn't dampen the spirits of the newly weds. The weather is always such a hot topic and last year we had one extreme to the other from one of the hottest days of the year to a wedding in July which during the photo call we had to take cover while the heavy rain, thunder and lightening was above us yet just 10 minutes later the sun made an appearance again. Also unfortunately back in February one of the venues grounds were completely flooded. We have seen lots of DIY weddings in 2014 too, including home made bunting, home grown flowers for confetti, cakes made by relatives, personalised wedding favours made by the bridal party and even a mother of the bride making the wedding dress plus much more.

2014 Brides have been AMAZING as when the weather has been hot, hot, hot they still smiled and looked beautiful and on the days it rained each and every one of those brides braved the cold and wet and hitched their dresses up and enjoyed their day with no worries and still looked every bit the beautiful bride! Also lets not forget the Groom's ...... they looked beautiful too!

2014 was another great year which we will look back on with great fondness. 2015 is already looking like our busiest year to date and we can not wait for our first wedding of the year later this month. Below is a selection of our favourite photos from the year ♥
