William & Jade - Worcestershire Wedding Photographer

On the 27th of July 2013 Will and Jade become "Mr and Mrs Smith" they got married at Jade's family Church surrounded by friends and family and what a beautiful day it was.

This blog post is a little different to other wedding posts I write as William is my cousin and of course Paul's nephew which meant we had the very important job of capturing their day and also celebrating with them. We arrived early in the morning to a very excited Bride to be getting ready with her Mom, she was very relaxed and a little worried about the Groom to be as word got out that he was nervous (He was very nervous!!) Once all the bridesmaids arrived and got ready, time flew and it was time for us to head to the church to meet Will and his best man Tom. Tom lived up to his best man duties and took a nervous Will to the pub to help calm his nerves, after a few photos he was ready and waiting.

Jade arrived with her very proud Dad and bridesmaids which included her big sister, best friend, cousins and very cute niece. The ceremony was emotional but beautiful and after the confetti had fallen, photos were taken, champagne drunk it was time to head off to the reception and party the night away!

Newborn Photography - Cirencester Photographer

Newborn photography has been an interest of mine for over a year, and I have done various shoots with boys, girls, few days old to a few weeks old and each time they have been very different and so have the results - I was almost ready to give up as I felt "Nope I can't do newborn photography its hard work" but yet my passion for this area of photography has been reignited, all thanks to this gorgeous little girl!

On Thursday Mum and Baby turned up for their photo shoot. Mum was so prepared - lots of clothes, nappies and bottles plus she had given me as long as I wanted to capture such a precious time in her baby's life as she won't be this tiny for long. We began the shoot with little lady wide awake and with a beaming smile but after a few shots we got little lady off to sleep and soon was able to create some gorgeous images.

It wasn't all as easy as it sounds we would take a couple of photos then little lady would wake, so she was fed, cuddled and soon back to sleep, this happen a few times through out the shoot but Mum and I were patient, as you must be with baby's and children - you photograph them when they are ready, not the other way round!

The shoot took around 5 hours in total -which may seem long but between photos, nappy changes, feeds, cuddles and sleeping time, it meant a calm and relaxed atmosphere - happy baby, happy Mum and happy photographer!

From the shoot I have learnt that time is a huge factor in which you need to allow not just an hour but at least half a day to create and capture newborns at their best - food and patience help too!

Dan & Charlie

Dan and Charlie are getting married in September this year. Their pre-wedding shoot took place at their home and even involved their gorgeous children and the cat. I've known Charlie for a few years (I used to look after Poppy at nursery school) and I'm chuffed to bits she's chosen us to capture her special day.

In Charlie's words "We both hate having our photo taken but Dan is particularly bad at posing, he always pulls a 'Chandler' face"  they did very well but I must admit the kids are naturals!
